Jiri Kylian: Ironic Dances
Иржи Килиан: Ироничные танцы
Three very non-standard works by the legendary choreographer Jiri Kylian are combined into one evening: the ballet “Six Dances”, the short film-dance “CarMen” and the play “Birth-day”.
However, Kylian does not have standard performances; his palette is almost limitless. One of the main “plotless” artists of modern ballet and one of the main philosophers, he works brilliantly with laughter, irony, and satire, sometimes bringing the story to the point of absurdity, sometimes to tears, creating an amazing mix of different genres.
